In August 2026, the New Jersey Attorney General sued Amazon, alleging that Amazon abused its dominant buyer power (what the lawsuit calls “monopsony” power) over the Delivery Service Partners that deliver its packages, and over the drivers those DSPs employ. According to that lawsuit, alleged Amazon’s practices resulted in lower pay and worse working conditions for delivery drivers, and Amazon restricted DSPs from competing to hire drivers away from one another. The New Jersey complaint alleges the conduct is “likely” occurring across the country.
