Samantha Smith is Senior Counsel at Schneider Wallace Cottrell Konecky LLP. Since 2005, Ms. Smith has dedicated her practice to representing employees and consumers in complex class action litigation against some of America’s largest companies. Ms. Smith’s many years of experience includes successful work on hundreds of class actions including in cases involving wage and hour violations, consumer fraud, unfair competition, securities fraud, antitrust, asbestos exposure, and defective products.
Ms. Smith completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Davis with a degree in political science – public service. After working at the California State Capitol as a legislative analysis, she went on to earn her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of Law. At Hastings, Ms. Smith was the recipient of Equal Justice America fellowship where she advocated on behalf of women and children victimized by domestic violence. Additionally, Ms. Smith was a recipient of the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in legal writing and research and was a teaching assistant in legal writing for first year law students.
In addition to her extensive litigation practice, Ms. Smith has taught at a business school nationally recognized as a top producer of minority degree earners. While there, she developed a curriculum for and lectured on business law at the graduate level and volunteered her time working with graduate students on issues pertaining to tenants’ rights.
Ms. Smith is a member of the State Bars of California and Tennessee.
