In a national class action, Schneider Wallace Cottrell Brayton Konecky LLP, along with co-counsel Leiff, Cabrasser, Heimann and Bernstein, the Law Offices of Michael S. Davis, The Law Office of John Burris and Barry Goldstein, alleged that FedEx failed to promote, adequately compensate and otherwise equally treat its minority employees.
After lengthy negotiations, the parties agreed to a settlement, known as a Consent Decree. Under the settlement, FedEx Express agreed to change many of its practices and procedures, including discontinuing its use of the Basic Skills Test ("BST") as a requirement for awarding courier, ramp transport driver and service agent positions.
The settlement also required FedEx Express to pay nearly $55 million.
