Exposure to the toxic fumes from welding rods has been linked to diseases similar to Parkinson's disease and Manganism (also known as a welder's disease), as well as other occupational and neurological conditions. Many welders are not adequately warned of these dangers by the manufacturers or sellers of the welding rods. It is believed that these diseases are irreversible and are characterized by tremors, shakes, sterility and other symptoms similar to Parkinson's.
