VIOXX FACTS

 

A study, commissioned by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, shows that taking Vioxx can increase the likelihood that a person will to suffer a heart attack, stroke and/or excessive bleeding.

 

Merck & Co., the company that makes Vioxx, has recently announced that it is discontinuing and recalling the drug because of these risks.   The U.S. Government is advising anyone taking Vioxx to immediately consult a physician.

 

Vioxx is a widely used anti-inflammatory and painkiller taken by many arthritis patients and others who suffer from joint pain.
