Schneider Wallace Cottrell Konecky LLP is investigating illegal early termination fees.

The laws of many states make it illegal for companies, under certain circumstances, to charge a “penalty” when a customer cancels a contract.  Yet despite these laws, many companies charge consumers “early termination fees” when they cancel contracts for items such as:

• cell phone service
• cable or satellite TV
• subscriptions
• other services

 

We believe that many of these “early termination” fee charges may violate the law.
